How to Upgrade Ubuntu Version

In every six months, a new edition of Ubuntu is released with security updates and new applications inside it. In this article I will describe you about how to upgrade your existing Ubuntu Version to a newer one.

Install update-manager-core if it is not already installed:

Then we have to check if the new version is available.

The above command will check the newer version is available or not and will return the result. If any new version is available then we can proceed.

If and only if upgrading from an LTS release, then edit

Be sure that you have all updates applied to your current version of Ubuntu before you upgrade.

Finally issue the below command and the upgrade will begin:

After issuing the above command follow the on-screen instructions.
