Backup script for AWS EBS volumes.

aws-logoHere is a bash script to automated the EBS volumes backup. The sctipt will create snapshots for the mentioned EBS volumes and also it will delete the snapshots older than 7 days. To run the sctipt you required the AWS secrete keys. You can configure AWS credentials on your machine following my previous post “How to setup AWS credentials“. You can remove the “AWS environment” section from the script if you have configured your machine as “How to setup AWS credentials“. Download the ec2-api-tools to /usr/local/ path. Put the script on the cron tab for complete automation.
