Some basic RPM commands:

RPM (Red Hat Package Manager) is a powerful package manager for Redhat, Fedora. We can use this for build, install, query, verify, update, and remove/erase individual software packages.

  • Install a RPM package

  • Upgrade package

  • Erase or remove an installed package

  • Erase or remove an installed package without checking for it’s dependencies

  • Display list all installed packages

  • Display installed information along with package version and short description

  • Find what package owns the file

  • Display list of configuration files for a package

  • Display list of all recently installed RPMs

  • Find out what dependencies a rpm file has

  • List files in package

  • Check a RPM signature package
